Terms of Service

By accessing or using intrn ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and intrn.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

intrn is an AI-powered cold outreach platform designed for finance students pursuing internships at investment banks, private equity firms, venture capital firms, and boutique consulting firms. The Service provides:

• AI-assisted discovery of professional contacts at target firms
• Automated research on contacts and firms to support personalization
• AI-generated draft outreach emails tailored to each contact
• A review interface where you approve, edit, or skip every email before it is sent
• Scheduled delivery of approved emails from your own connected email account (.edu or Gmail)
• A platform-wide Contact Health System that prevents over-emailing the same professionals

intrn does not guarantee responses, interviews, or employment outcomes. The Service is a tool to assist your outreach efforts, not a placement agency.

To use intrn, you must:

• Be a currently enrolled college or university student, or a recent graduate (within 12 months of graduation)
• Provide accurate and complete information during registration, including your real name, school, and academic details
• Maintain only one account per person — creating multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits or Contact Health rules is prohibited
• Keep your account credentials secure and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Providing false information about your identity, school affiliation, or academic standing is grounds for immediate account termination.

You agree to use intrn solely for legitimate professional networking and career outreach. You must not:

• Send spam, unsolicited bulk email, or any communication that violates the CAN-SPAM Act, GDPR, or other applicable anti-spam legislation
• Send deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent emails through the Service
• Impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity, or fabricate credentials in outreach emails
• Attempt to bypass, disable, or manipulate the Contact Health System, rate limits, or any other platform safeguards
• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or send inappropriate content to any recipient
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or extract data from the Service for use outside of your personal outreach
• Share your account or allow others to send emails through your connected accounts

You must review and approve every email before it is sent. intrn generates draft emails using AI. No email is ever sent without your explicit approval. You are responsible for reviewing each draft for accuracy, tone, and appropriateness before approving it for delivery.

Emails sent through intrn are delivered from your own email account (.edu or personal Gmail) that you connect to the Service. intrn does not send emails from its own domains or servers.

By connecting your email account, you grant intrn limited permission to send emails on your behalf only after you have explicitly approved each individual email. This permission may be revoked at any time by disconnecting your email account in your dashboard settings.

You are responsible for all emails sent from your connected accounts, including AI-drafted content that you approve. Because emails originate from your account and bear your name, they are your communications.

The platform enforces daily sending limits to protect your account reputation and ensure deliverability. These limits are non-negotiable and cannot be overridden:

• .edu accounts: up to 35 emails per day (with a warmup period for new connections)
• Personal Gmail accounts: up to 15 emails per day
• Combined maximum: 50 emails per day across all connected accounts

Emails are delivered with randomized timing intervals during business hours (8 AM to 4 PM in the recipient's timezone) to maintain natural sending patterns.

intrn uses artificial intelligence to generate draft outreach emails based on your profile, research about the recipient, and your selected preferences. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated drafts are suggestions, not final communications — you must review and may edit each draft before approving it
• AI may occasionally produce inaccurate information about contacts, firms, or their activities — it is your responsibility to verify factual claims before sending
• intrn does not guarantee any particular response rate, interview rate, or outcome from emails sent through the Service
• The quality and effectiveness of outreach depends on many factors outside our control, including your profile, the recipient, market conditions, and timing

By approving an AI-generated email, you accept responsibility for its content as if you had written it yourself.

intrn operates a platform-wide Contact Health System designed to prevent any professional from receiving an excessive number of outreach emails from intrn users. This system:

• Tracks how many intrn users have contacted each professional within a rolling 30-day window
• Blocks contacts who have received 5 or more emails from different intrn users in the past 30 days
• Limits the number of students from the same school who can contact the same person at the same firm in a given month
• Permanently suppresses contacts who have requested not to be contacted or whose emails have bounced

These rules are enforced server-side and cannot be bypassed. They exist to protect both recipients and the broader intrn user community. You agree to respect these limitations.

The intrn platform, including its software, design, algorithms, and documentation, is the intellectual property of intrn and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Emails generated by the AI and approved by you become your content. You retain ownership of your approved emails, profile data, and any edits you make to drafts.

You grant intrn a limited, non-exclusive license to use anonymized and aggregated data about email performance (open rates, response rates) to improve the Service. This data is never shared in a way that identifies you or your recipients.

intrn offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed through Stripe, our payment processor. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete billing information to Stripe
• Monthly subscriptions (Core, Pro) renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date
• The Recruiting Season plan is a one-time purchase valid for 3 months from the date of purchase
• Add-on run purchases are non-refundable once the run has been initiated
• Refund requests for unused subscription time may be submitted within 14 days of the most recent billing date

intrn reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes do not affect the current billing period.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, intrn and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
• Loss of data, revenue, opportunities, or reputation resulting from emails sent through the Service
• Actions taken by recipients in response to emails you approved and sent
• Temporary unavailability of the Service due to maintenance, third-party outages, or technical issues
• Inaccuracies in AI-generated content that you approved and sent without correction

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you have paid to intrn in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You may terminate your account at any time from your dashboard settings. Upon termination:

• All connected email accounts will be immediately disconnected
• Pending emails that have not yet been sent will be canceled
• Your profile data will be retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted
• OAuth tokens and SMTP credentials are deleted immediately upon disconnection

intrn reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, including but not limited to: sending deceptive emails, attempting to bypass Contact Health rules, creating multiple accounts, or misrepresenting your identity.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

intrn is committed to compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the CAN-SPAM Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Specifically:

• All emails sent through the Service include a functioning unsubscribe mechanism as required by the CAN-SPAM Act
• Recipients who request removal are added to a platform-wide do-not-contact list within 24 hours
• Your email account credentials (SMTP passwords, OAuth tokens) are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption and are never accessible to AI agents or exposed in plaintext
• You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us or through your account settings

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Non-material changes (such as clarifications or formatting updates) may be made without prior notice.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the Service and terminate your account.
